Questions
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to give my name or contact details to see quotes?
No. Six pieces of information are all the quote tool needs: your gender, date of birth, how you would describe your health, whether you use tobacco, the coverage amount you want, and the term length. Those answers go to the carriers' systems and come back as rates. Your name, address, and health history are collected only if you decide to move forward with an application.
Are the monthly prices shown the price I will pay?
The quotes shown are what each carrier is quoting for the health class you selected on this site. Those quotes are estimates based on the information you provided. After you apply, the carrier conducts underwriting and may confirm the class you selected, move you to a better class, or assign a different class. The final premium you actually pay is determined by the carrier through that underwriting process. Everything on this site is for information only and is not a promise of any particular price.
What happens when I click Apply?
Selecting Apply moves you into an online application that is run by the carriers' platform. The application is already filled in with the answers you gave on this site, so you do not have to re-enter them. From there you can provide the additional information underwriting needs, stop and come back to it later, and sign electronically when you are ready. Susman Insurance Agency, a California-licensed insurance agency (License 0B75129), handles the application process.
Will I need a medical exam?
Whether a medical exam is required depends on the carrier you choose, the coverage amount you apply for, and your health answers. Many carriers today offer accelerated underwriting for eligible applicants, meaning they decide based on your application, prescription records, and other data rather than requiring an in-person exam. Each quote on this site indicates for that specific product whether an exam is required, possibly required, or not required.
Is a longer term better?
A term should match the period when your income matters most to the people who depend on it. That could be a 20-year mortgage, children at home needing support, or a business loan that is backing a household income. A longer term locks your rate for more years but costs more per month. The quote tool lets you run the numbers for 10, 15, 20, 25, and 30 years and see what each costs so you can match the term to the actual obligation.
Does this site sell my information?
No. The quote tool does not ask for your contact information in the first place. We do not sell or trade visitor information with anyone, and we do not use advertising trackers or share data. Our measurement of page traffic is cookieless. The privacy page has the complete details on what this site collects, what we use it for, and what we do not do.
